Nerd by nature, developer by trade. I specialize in backend systems and ETL pipelines. I have a passion for inclusive software and I am always looking for ways to contribute to the community. When I'm not coding, you can find me hosting board game nights, advocating for internet privacy, or reading! I love everything from sci-fi, to relationship help, and eastern philosophy. I believe software should start with developers who care about the people behind the screen.
š About Me
I was born in 2002 in the beautiful northern Chinese province of é»é¾ę± (heilongjiang), and immigrated to Canada with my family when I was just 2 years old. Nowadays, Iām an average software developer with a healthy dose of imposter syndrome.
Currently employed as a Software Developer at J.D. Power, where I have worked since 2023. I develop critical data processing pipelines and backend services in both batch and stream processing flows. I have a strong background in Java, and Go. I am active in LGBTQ+ advocacy at my company, giving feedback on inclusive language, and joining the pride panel in 2024.
I am passionate about software that enhances user privacy and trust. I beleive that trust and privacy should be baked into design and architecture, not just terms of service. Currently, my main interests outside of my work are OIDC, ATProto, and static site generators!
As a natural nerd, I also love sci-fi, board games, video games, and so much more! I am always looking for ways to contribute to the community, and I am open to new opportunities for community engagement and reachout. If you want to chat about anything, feel free to shoot me a message!
